Market Commentary: The VN-INDEX edged down to 1,461.5pts after sharply declining in the afternoon session.

The VN-INDEX dropped 6.1pts to 1,461.5pts with the lowest performance from Consumer Staples. After the opening bell, the index fluctuated around reference level, then accelerated to reach its intraday high and stayed in the green territory for the rest of the morning. However, the demand from the buy-side weakened, causing the index to decrease sharply in the afternoon session. Banks large-cap and Energy erased the most point from the market, including VCB (-1.1%), SHB (-6.1%), BID (-2.1%), VPB (-1.3%). Notably, GAS became today’s top laggard by declining 3.1% and alone taking 1.9pts away from the index. Other large-cap contributed to the index loss were MSN (-2.8%), MWG (-1.2%), NVL(-1.5%). On the bright side, the top leader today was Real-estate, led by VHM (+0.7%), DIG (+4.3%), KBC (+2.9%). However, the sell-side was stronger and pushed VN-INDEX down to 1,461.5pts (-0.41%). On the contrary, HNX-INDEX rose 0.12% to 432.6pts in today’s session.
