VN-Index falls 0.2%, market remained mixed
The VN-Index fell 3.4 points (-0.2%) to 1,773.4 points on Tuesday as pressure on several large-cap stocks weighed on the index while capital flows remained selective. Market breadth was balanced, with 152 gainers, including 10 stocks at the ceiling price, 63 unchanged stocks and 152 decliners, including three stocks at the floor price. The HNX-Index rose 3.2 points (+1.1%) to 290.9 points.
The VN30-Index closed at 1,922.5 points, down 2.7 points (-0.1%), with eight gainers, three unchanged stocks and 19 decliners. The VN100 fell 0.3 points (-0.02%) to 1,837.7 points, with 33 gainers, 13 unchanged stocks and 52 decliners.
By sector, 13 of 19 sectors closed lower. Oil & Gas fell 2.5%, followed by Telecommunications (-1.6%), Technology (-1.4%), Industrial Goods & Services (-1.3%) and Utilities (-1.2%). In contrast, Construction & Materials rose 0.9%, followed by Retail (+0.7%), Financial Services (+0.6%), Travel & Leisure (+0.2%) and Real Estate (+0.03%).
HoSE matched trading value reached VND14.2tn (USD540.6mn), down 8.9% from the previous session, reflecting continued investor caution and slower trading activity. Foreign investors recorded net selling of VND769.4bn (USD29.3mn), led by TCB at VND221.8bn (USD8.4mn), VHM at VND184.7bn (USD7.0mn), FPT at VND104.7bn (USD4.0mn), and VIC at VND89.4bn (USD3.4mn). On the buying side, VNM led with VND60.5bn (USD2.3mn), followed by FRT at VND59.8bn (USD2.3mn), LPB at VND55.2bn (USD2.1mn), and VIX at VND54.8bn (USD2.1mn).
