Market Commentary: The VN-INDEX ended its trading week in the green
The VN-INDEX slightly gained 1.3pts in Friday session on the back of many large caps’ positive performance. After the opening bell, the VN-INDEX started in an optimistic sentiment and stayed in the green throughout today’s session. The largest support came from VPB, which rose 1.9% to VND64,600 and alone added 0.8pts to the index’s move. Other large caps also joined the rally and strengthened the index’s gain, led by VNM (+1.5%), SAB (+1.8%), HVN (+4.6%), and VRE (+2.0%). Thus, the VN-INDEX gradually climbed to its intraday high of 1,350.4pts (+0.5%) in the afternoon session. On the downside, selling pressure forced very few stocks to fall, including GVR (-1.6%), HPG (-0.8%), MSN (-0.8%), HDB (-1.9%), and MBB (-0.7%). Notably, foreign investors net sales in the tenth consecutive session with a total value of VND733.6bn and mainly focused on VHM, DPM, and VNM. At the end of the session, the VN-INDEX edged up 0.1% to 1,345.3pts while the HNX-INDEX plunged 0.1% to 350.0pts.
