Market NewsOil extended declines after U.S. producers increased drilling as the market contends with an overhang of crude inventories at the highest seasonal level in at least three decades. Futures lost as much as 0.7% in New York after slipping 0.2% on Friday. Rigs targeting crude rose for a seventh consecutive week to the highest level since February, Baker Hughes Inc. said on its website. Output from OPEC member Libya has expanded to 560,000 barrels a day, according to an official at National Oil Corp. This compares with a reported production rate of 540,000 a barrels a day last week. (Bloomberg) New VND3.5trl (US$157mn) international terminal at Danang International Airport will open in April next year in time for Asia-Pacific Economic Conference and serve 4mn passengers annually, citing info from Ministry of Transport. (Bloomberg) Vietnam ships US$2.9bn of phones and accessories in September (+0.2% MoM), according to data posted on Vietnam’s General Customs Department website. Thus, Jan-Sep exports of phone and parts rises 11% YoY to US$25.5bn, which is Vietnam’s highest value export category.
