Vietnam Daily Market Recap Dec 14 – KBC

Market Commentary: The VN-INDEX fluctuated around the reference point, edging up 0.01% to end at 1,476.0pts

The VN-INDEX gained 0.01pts to 1,476.0pts on the back of Material large caps. After the opening bell, The VN-INDEX opened in the red but the quickly moved back to the green territory and climbed to its intraday high of 1485.1pts in the morning session backed by strong buying demand for Material sector. In  the middle of afternoon session, profit taking activities emerged and pushed the index down to its intraday low of 1,469.2pts with Financials’ stocks falling namely CTG (-0.9%), VPB (-1.1%), VCB (-0.3%), STB (-1.9%), HDB (-1.5%), and BID (-0.4%), thus taking away a combined of 2.9pts from the index. Other laggards included PDR (-5.9%) and GVR (-0.9%). However, the index still managed to close at the green thanks to the support from several market pillars. Notably, HPG (+2.5%), BCM (+6.1%), DIG (+6.4%), NVL (+0.9%), and HSG (+7.0%) became today’s top movers. At the end of the session, the VN-INDEX closed up 0.01% to end at 1,476.0pts while The HNX-INDEX decreased  0.6% to 454.7pts.
