The VN-INDEX began the week in positive sentiment by gaining 3.2pts, supported by many large caps. Continuing the uptrend momentum last week, the VN-INDEX started Monday’s session optimistically and quickly rose to its intraday high of 1,482pts (+0.6%) right after the opening bell. VHM was the biggest supporter which increased 2.4% to VND84,000 and alone added 2.3pts to the index’s advance. In the afternoon session, the VN-INDEX suddenly tumbled to the red as selling pressure emerged and forced many large caps to fall. Top laggards today included HPG (-1.8%), GVR (-2.2%), NVL (-2.3%), VPB (-1.6%), and VCB (-0.5%). However, the index quickly recovered and managed to close in the green 1,476.6pts (+0.2%).
