Market Commentary: The VN-INDEX rose 1.3% on its third consecutive gaining session 

The VN-INDEX gained 16.5pts on the back of positive performance across all sectors, especially from Financials large caps. After the opening bell, the VN-INDEX started in a positive sentiment and stayed in the green throughout today’s session. Notably, MSN grew 4.9% to VND134,000, becoming today’s largest supporter to the index thanks to impressive 2Q21 business results. Other Financials market pillars also contributed to the index’s gain, led by VPB (+5.7%), ACB (+5.9%), CTG (+1.5%) and VCB (+0.1%), together adding 5.9pts to the index’s move. The positive momentum continued in the afternoon session, thus pushing the VN-INDEX to its intraday high of 1,312pts (+1.4%). On the downside, selling pressure forced a few stocks to fall, including VNM (-1.6%), VJC (-1.4%), EIB (-2.0%), SAB (-0.4%), and VIB (-1.0%). At the end of the session, the VN-INDEX jumped 1.3% to close at 1,156.5pts, while the HNX-INDEX also rose 1.3% to land at 316.9pts.
