Market Commentary: The VN-INDEX gained 0.4% on the back of Real Estate and Consumer Staples large caps

The VN-INDEX gained 5.4pts to reach 1,299.3pts as investors sought to buy Real Estate and Consumer Staples market pillars. After the opening bell, the VN-INDEX entered the green territory in a positive sentiment and stayed above the reference level throughout today’s session. Notably, VIC became today’s top mover, rising 3.7% to VND105,800, adding 3.5pts to the index’s rise. Other Real Estate and Consumer Staples large caps also joined the rally, including MSN (+4.8%), VNM (+0.8%), PDR (+3.4%), and NVL (+0.6%), pushing the index to its intraday high of 1,304.4pts (+0.9%) in the morning session. On the contrary, today’s top laggards include VHM (-1.2%), BCM (-4.8%), TCB (-1.0%), CTG (-1.0%) and SAB (-1.2%). At the end of the session, the index closed up 0.4% to 1,299.3pts with 199 gainers and 178 losers. The HNX-INDEX also rose 0.5% to 307.8pts. Foreign investors net bought the third consecutive session on HOSE totaling VND66.5bn.
