Market Commentary: The VN-INDEX surged up to 1,477.0pts thanks to the exploding afternoon session.

The VN-INDEX rose 20.1pts in the last weekday’s session to negate yesterday’s drop with strong support from Financial large caps. The market quickly moved to the green territory right after the opening bell and stayed in the green territory for the whole morning session. After the noon break, the index suddenly retreated back to the reference level due to poor performance from some large caps, including POW (-6.8%), PDR (-0.3%), KDH (-1.4%). However, the index then quickly turned back to its rising trend with strong support from Financial large caps, led by VPB (+5.7%), VCB (+2.6%), TCB (+3.3%), HDB (+6.9%), CTG (+2.2%), MBB (+3.1%), and TPB (+6.9%), pushing the index to touch its intraday high of 1,478.7pts right after the close. At the end of the session, the VN-INDEX surged 1.4% to 1,477.0pts and the HNX-INDEX also increased 0.7% to close at 445.6pts in today’s session.
