Market Commentary: The VN-INDEX lost ground in the late trading sessions

The VN-INDEX continued its wreckage trend from the last few sessions and edged down 1.1pts to 1,477.7pts. After the opening bell, the positive sentiment quickly emerged in the market and pushed the index to its intraday high of 1,487.8pts. The index then maintained to stay in  the green territory for the whole morning session with strong support from various large caps, including VIC (+1.5%), GVR (+3.4%), MSN (+2.0%), GAS (+1.3%), MWG (+1.4%), VCB (+0.4%) and KDH (+3.0%). However, the uptrend momentum decelerated due to strong selling pressure in the afternoon session, and gradually dragged the index to red territory, touching its intraday low of 1,472.8pts. HPG (-2.2%), VPB (-1.6%), BID (-1.1%), CTG (-1.1%), SSI (-2.7%) and VHM (-0.3%) were the major contributors for the index’s loss. At the end of the session, the VN-INDEX edged down 0.1% to 1,477.7pts and the HNX-INDEX also dropped 0.4% to close at 453.1pts in today’s session.
